Dear Central Family,

The Staff-Parish Relations Committee is excited to announce the hiring of Scott Montgomery as our new Director of Classic Music and Worship Arts. Scott has been serving as our Associate Director and Organist for the past five years, and we are thrilled to welcome him into this new role.

Prior to coming to Central, Scott served as the Director of Music and Organist at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Champaign, Illinois for 12 years where he directed their choirs and did all the worship planning for their four weekly services. He has been a valuable part of our Music Ministries team here at Central since his arrival in May 2017, both assisting Dr. Frode Gunderson in worship planning and directing the choir in his absence. Scott is a nationally and internationally renowned organist.  We are grateful he will be able to continue in that role as well here at Central.

Scott is absolutely ready to continue the legacy of inspirational worship here at Central. “I am thrilled to accept the position of Director of Classic Music and Worship Arts. I joyfully walk into the music suite and sanctuary each day knowing Central’s congregation made this possible through generous support and a faithful love for God through worship. I am excited to continue and build upon the fine program set forth by Frode Gundersen, and I will enjoy working with all the hard working and familiar faces that are a part of our music ministry. To God be the Glory!”

The SPR Committee, along with Central’s Executive Pastor Dr. Steve Pulliam, will be working with Scott in the weeks to come to make any additional hires needed to assist him and fill out our Classic Worship ministry team.
