We are excited to announce the new U of A Wesley Director and Central UMC College Pastor, Rev. Virginia Brown.
Virginia is coming to Central from
Salem UMC and Wesley UMC in Conway, AR. Before obtaining her Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary Virginia worked in youth ministry for 14 years. She has worked diligently with the Arkansas Conference on district and conference levels, encouraging youth all along the way. This connection has led her perfectly to ministry with young adults.
Her passion for the United Methodist Church shows through her teaching and discipleship. Virginia believes in the connection of the UMC and the value of people finding their church family wherever they go.
Virginia loves the outdoors and finds joy in kayaking, swimming, teaching swim lessons, gardening, and going on general adventures in the great beyond. She has an affinity for crafting stained glass, and building, and fixing broken things.
She is excited about working with the church to create vitality and to make disciples of Jesus Christ by Building meaningful relationships with church members, the community, and Wesley students. She is looking forward to working with young people as they figure out their place in the world, and she prays that the Holy Spirit guides her to fulfill the
mission of the United Methodist Church.
Virginia Brown’s first day is Tuesday, September 1.
