ARUMC cares about Disaster Response! That is certainly true this week. With tornadoes from west of Decatur to past Yellville, that's 125 miles of destruction. And the survivors need you!!
Volunteer organizations of all sorts are arriving in NWA, and as United Methodists, we want to stand together and do our part. This
is a time for us to come together as a community, supporting each other and the survivors.
We need all volunteers. Tasks will include removing large debris from the home site and carrying it to dumpsters. Raking and bagging small debris, helping survivors pack their belongings, and supporting people however we can. We also have
more work for chainsaw crews, which have already been working.
If you can be on the "Drag and Bag" team, you need only a hat, comfortable clothes, and sturdy shoes - no sandals or flip-flops. We will supply gloves, bags, and rakes.
Orientation for volunteers will begin at 9:00 on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. The location is Living Waters UMC in Centerton. Conference DR Co-Coordinators Sheri Mathews and Roy Lee and NW District Coordinator Andrew Smith will then assign job tasks and locations to volunteers.
If you have specific questions, you can reach out to Roy at 501 607-0388, Shelley at 501 607-0389, or Andrew at 501 844-5468.
