Join us Sunday, March 2 for our final week of the sermon series, "What We Believe." We're exploring what United Methodist Christians believe about common faith topics. This week we'll be discussing what we believe about grace. Our scripture is 2 Corinthians 5:16-21 

ASH WEDNESDAY

Wednesday March 5, we will begin the season of Lent by reflecting on our humanity and God's grace. Come by from 7-8:30am and receive Ashes to go on Dickson (in front of the Sanctuary) or gather with us in the Sanctuary at 6pm for our Ash Wednesday worship service. 

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Repent and believe the gospel.

SOUP AND SERMON

It's time for our 2nd Annual Soup and Sermon series, a collaboration of 3 Fayetteville church communities: Central UMC, St. Paul's Episcopal, and First Christian. Beginning March 11, join us on Tuesdays in Lent at 12pm at one of these churches and hear from a different pastor and lay person as they lead us in a short worship service. Then stick around for fellowship and a bowl of delicious soup! All are welcome.

LENT STUDY PREVIEW

Our Lent Wednesday night study, Seven Words, will begin March 12 at 6pm in Wesley 310. Join us as we reflect on the seven final sayings from Jesus on the cross. Register for the class here. Purchase your book here.

HYMN FESTIVAL CONCERT

Don't miss this gathering of 3 amazing choirs from the ARUMC connection and the DFW Brass Ensemble in our Central UMC Sanctuary! Join us March 16 @ 3pm for an afternoon of beautiful music and worship. Admission is free.

Be Salt Be Light 

Are you asking if you have the courage to follow Jesus out of the church building and into the community? The Salt and Light Team is a group of CUMC members that invite people to gather to discuss social  principles from a Wesleyan theological input biblical perspective. This group will meet March 9,16,23,30 in the CAC at 5pm.Register here.

LITTLE FREE LIBRARY

Did you know Central has a Little Free Library on the corner of Highland and Dickson? Each week we fill the library with books for readers of all ages, and each week our shelves are emptied. If you have extra books (fiction or non-fiction) that you're willing to donate, drop them by the church office or share them with Erika in the SMB. Thanks for helping us share the gift of reading with our neighbors!

CRAWFISH BOIL: Youth Fundraiser

On Sunday, March 9th, get ready for an amazing treat! Our Central Youth are selling crawfish plates to raise funds to support scholarships for Central Youth trips and events that provide life changing connection and growth. Last year we gave out 23 scholarships and this year we are hoping to do even more! Order your plates now (orders close Sunday, March 2)! Pick up is March 9 between 10am-2pm.

Sierra and Dillon Nelson presented their infant daughter, Saylor Kate Nelson, to receive Holy Baptism at the 11:00 a.m. worship service in the Sanctuary on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Alicia and Rick Wantz are the maternal grandparents and Tracy and Ricky Nelson are the paternal grandparents.

Canopy Family Needs

In December we welcomed a family from Zambia via the refugee program through Canopy NWA. Fidel and her son Klement just moved to Fayetteville and our Circle of Welcome needs a few extra hands helping them navigate the city. If you're able to help assist these precious people acclimate to life in a new setting, please contact Bill Wilkins.

Parking Deck: Central has entered into a parking agreement with the City of Fayetteville. This is a pay-to-park arrangement; however, we do not anticipate any disruption to your parking needs. Please note that there will be no enforcement by the city on all day on Sundays and Wednesday evenings.
