CUMC Fam, Mark your calendars for Christmas in July at Central! It's too early for Christmas sweaters, but it's never too early to celebrate Christ’s birth—complete with Christmas carols, Christmas stories about the Wisemen who brought gifts to Jesus, and yes, Christmas PJs are welcome! On July 27th we will deck the halls (metaphorically) in red and green and remember that the miracle of Jesus is good news every day, not just in December. As part of our Christmas in July celebration, I want to share a brief financial update and invite you to bring a Christmas sized offering to help us prepare for Fall Kick off events. As of June 2025, our offering gifts have outpaced our 2024 giving by nearly $300,000. This is an incredible testimony to the faithfulness and generosity of each of
you, and the powerful momentum of our church community. Historically, Q3 (July - September) is our lowest giving quarter. It's also the time when we host many important fall events like Back to School Bash and Trunk or Treat and begin preparing for Confirmation and welcoming new U of A Wesley college students. On this Christmas in July, please prayerfully consider giving a bold gift in person or online so that we can continue in all the amazing things God has planned for us in the coming months here at Central. Don't forget: July 27th at 9am or 11am. Bring a friend, and let’s proclaim: Joy to the World—in any season! Grace and Peace, Rev. Jennie

Ozark Mission ProjectLast week, our Central Next Gen Youth participated in Ozark Mission Project in Siloam Springs. They helped our neighbors in Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma by processing fallen trees for fire wood,
building wheelchair ramps, and cleaning up yards. Outside of working on these multiple job sites, our youth also participated in worship, scavenger hunts, Mario Kart tournaments, and had the opportunity to build many connections with other youth from around the state. While Central Next Gen Youth was in Siloam
Springs, Central hosted over 120 OMP volunteers here on CUMC campus. Thanks to our generous ministry groups and donors who were were able to provide and serve dinner each evening for the OMP volunteers. It has been a joy having our congregation gather together to Ignite and Empower our community through this amazing mission. Ozark Mission Project exists to transform lives and communities through worship, fellowship, and hands-on mission. Find out more here
CAMPUS NEWSSIGNAGE UPDATE We’re moving forward with important updates to our
campus signage to enhance hospitality and way-finding for first-time guests. Our new signage model will assign each building a simple, letter-based identifier to improve clarity and consistency. Here’s what to expect: - Building
A: Formerly the Education Building, this space now houses our Scouts and other ministries. Renaming it will better reflect current and future use.
- Sanctuary: This space will retain its name as our primary worship area and a well-known landmark with its iconic Dickson Street steeple.
- Building B: The Wesley Building
will become Building B.
- Building C: The current CAC, located at the center of campus and currently referred to by multiple names, will be renamed Building C.
- Building D: The Student Ministry Building—which also hosts our academy and functions as a multipurpose space—will be labeled Building D.
This transition will take place over the next several weeks. New signage will be installed gradually, and updated campus maps will be placed at all exit doors and online to help orient visitors. Thank you for your
patience and support as we make our campus more welcoming and accessible for all! STEEPLE RENOVATION Beginning Mid July, TCM is scheduled to begin work on repairing and painting our beautiful steeple, front pillars, and interior Sanctuary walls. So when you see scaffolding and other work going on, you'll know why. Exciting things coming! |
THE BIBLE YEAR PODCASTIn this episode of It’s Not Complicated, we review the books of 2 Corinthians and Galatians, highlighting Paul’s deep emotional appeal and strong defense of the gospel. They unpack themes like strength in weakness,
reconciliation, and freedom through faith in Christ—not the law. From Paul’s personal struggles in 2 Corinthians to his bold confrontation of legalism in Galatians, the episode emphasizes the power of grace and the centrality of the gospel in the believer’s life.
