Dear Central Family,
We want to let you know about an important upcoming meeting in the life of our church. A called Charge Conference has been scheduled for Sunday, August 3 at 4:00 p.m. in CAC Classrooms 3–5. At this meeting, Central Church Council members will hear final discussion and take a
vote regarding the possible adoption of Trinity United Methodist Church as a second campus of Central.
This moment is the result of months of hard work, prayer, and discernment. Central's leadership has taken this process seriously—because we believe God’s mission and the community here at Central deserve
nothing less. We’ve obtained structural assessments, gathered property appraisals, collected bids for needed renovations, and spent countless hours in conversation, research, and prayer to ensure this decision is informed, thoughtful, and driven by our mission to connect people with Christ's love. All of this information has been carefully reviewed by the membership of Central's Finance, Trustees, and Church Council committees. After review, all three bodies have voted
unanimously in favor of moving forward with the adoption.
That said, this decision only becomes final with a Charge Conference vote. That means members of the Church Council will be making this final decision by vote at the upcoming August 3rd meeting. As with any charge
conference, all members are invited to attend and lend voice to the discussion.
If you want to know more about the Trinity adoption opportunity, you can find our Second Campus Ministry Plan here. I'm also available to answer any questions, as are the members of our Church Council (linked here). If you are unable to attend the Charge Conference, I hope you'll continue to keep Central UMC, along with all of our mission and ministries in your prayers. We believe the Holy Spirit is guiding us in this process, and we want you
to be part of whatever comes next.
With hope and gratitude,
Rev. Jennie Williams
Senior Pastor, Central United Methodist Church
