Pentecost Sunday

Pentecost Sunday is coming!
Let’s fill the sanctuary with the color of the Holy Spirit. We invite everyone to wear red this Sunday as we celebrate the coming of the Spirit and the birth of the Church. Red symbolizes the fire of the Holy Spirit—let’s show our unity and joy as we worship together!

CUBA MISSIONS MEETING

On Sunday, June 8th @ 6pm rooms 3-5 in building C, join us for an information session on our upcoming March 22- March 28th, 2026 Cuba Missions Trip. Julie and Dirk Thibodeaux will be sharing their memorable experiences and how they have been serving and sharing the love of Christ around the globe. Bring your family and learn how you can follow Central's mission to ignite and empower our community, to experience and share the love of Christ.

NICENE CONCERT 

On Sunday, June 15, join us @ 5pm in the sanctuary for We Believe – A Nicene Celebration concert, commemorating the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed, a foundational expression of Christian faith.

Choirs from St. Paul’s, Central United Methodist, First Presbyterian, and Grace Episcopal – Siloam Springs will unite to perform Schubert’s Mass in G and share additional sacred works from their own traditions.

OMP VOLUNTEERS

Ozark Mission Project is coming to Central the week of June 22-27. We will be hosting over 120 OMP volunteers here at CUMC. There are many opportunities to be involved, by providing and/or serving, delivering popsicles, and even helping with a work project one day. If you would like to be involved in some way, please complete this interest form to help serve. If you have any questions, or need more information, please email Jules Anderson.

PRIDE PARADE 

Central is excited to be a part of the annual Pride Parade taking place on Dickson Street Saturday, June 28th @ 5 pm. Help be a part of our welcoming hospitality team Pride Parade! INCLUSIVE CONNECTIONS

Our next Inclusive Connections meeting 

will be on Thursday, June 12 @ 6pm in Wesley Room 102 (Building B). We will planning our upcoming Pride Parade events and discussing fall events. Be sure to join and invite a friend. All are welcome!

CENTRAL SINGLES

Starting this Sunday, June 8th, our Central Singles class will be moving to rooms 1-2 CAC building C. Join us at 930 am and feel free to reach out to Mary Purvis for information. 

PAINTING THE STARS STUDY

Starting Sunday, June 22nd @ 6:30pm in Wesley 310 (Building B), join us in a study celebrating the communion of science and faith, Painting the Stars explores promise of evolutionary Christian spirituality. Featuring over a dozen leading theologians and progressive thinkers, the seven-session program includes a downloadable and printable participant guide. Baptism:

Holly and James Roblee will present their infant son, Connor James Roblee, to receive Holy Baptism this Sunday, June 8th at the 11:00 a.m. worship service in the Sanctuary. Big brothers are Teddy and Chase, and grandparents are Karla and Tommy Hilburn, Julie Cypert, and Rick Roblee. Connor is also the great-grandson of Dr. Merle Johnson, a former Central pastor.

VBS NEXT WEEK

We CANNOT wait to see you next week for VBS June 9th -13th from 9-11:30am!  Please note, you must be registered to attend!  All things VBS this year will be taking place on the 2nd floor of Central’s Student Ministries Building (SMB – address 19 W Lafayette St).  

VBS MISSION PROJECT

During VBS June 9- June 13th, we will be partnering with UMCOR to pack Hygiene Kits! UMCOR Hygiene Kits are distributed during socio-economic or natural disasters throughout the world. Please click here to purchase supplies to pack our VBS disaster kits!  They are especially needing hand towels and soap bars. 

DCYM BASEBALL GAME

On June 8th from 1-7pm, UMC youth will come together to watch the NWA Natural's ball game. Immediately following the game, we will go to Elm Springs UMC for a brief time of worship, communion, popsicles, and games! For more information on how to attend, please reach out to Zack.

SIGNAGE UPDATE

We’re moving forward with important updates to our campus signage to enhance hospitality and way-finding for first-time guests. Our new signage model will assign each building a simple, letter-based identifier to improve clarity and consistency.

Here’s what to expect:

• Building A: Formerly the Education Building, this space now houses our Scouts and other ministries. Renaming it will better reflect current and future use.
• Sanctuary: This space will retain its name as our primary worship area and a well-known landmark with its iconic Dickson Street steeple.
• Building B: The Wesley Building will become Building B.
• Building C: The current CAC, located at the center of campus and currently referred to by multiple names, will be renamed Building C.
• Building D: The Student Ministry Building—which also hosts our academy and functions as a multipurpose space—will be labeled Building D.

This transition will take place over the next several weeks. New signage will be installed gradually, and updated campus maps will be placed at all exit doors and online to help orient visitors.

STEEPLE RENOVATION

Beginning June 18th, TCM is scheduled to begin work on repairing and painting our beautiful steeple, front pillars, and interior Sanctuary walls. So when you see scaffolding and other work going on, you'll know why. Exciting things coming!
