Dear Central UMC Family,
In the spirit of Advent hope and joy, I wanted to share some exciting news from our Monday Charge Conference regarding the adoption of Trinity UMC. After prayerful discussion, our Church Council voted 23–1 to adopt Trinity
UMC as another campus of Central.
During Monday night's discussion, we offered space for questions and comments. A few folks raised concerns about taking on something new, but the overall feeling in the room was one of hopeful excitement. One member of the council remarked that he
was proud to be part of a church community who was willing to build a bigger table.
There will be many more details coming soon about future plans and ways to get involved. For now, Trinity will continue worshiping as an independent congregation through December. Starting in
January, we’ll begin the building renovations and ministry work on what will become Central on Garland. Please continue being in prayer for members of Trinity as they prepare for this transition, and for our Central team as we embrace this new opportunity!
Grace and
peace,
Jennie Williams
